TRULY SPEAKING

What answer do we get if we openly ask ourselves how we usually speak? Does what we say reflect what’s in our heart, are we saying as much and no more than we really ‘know’ to say, are we able to remain silent if that’s appropriate? Often the answers to these questions are very revealing. Do we speak ‘on auto-pilot’, do we speak from one of our ‘personas’, are we trying to make the other feel good or to protect our own feelings? If this is happening we can be sure that we’re speaking from the patterns we’ve established to protect ourselves - but in that moment we’re living at less than our full potential.

Truly Speaking is a liberating, secure and supportive form for anyone who would like to explore a different way of speaking to others. In it, a maximum of ten participants explore how it is to first come into real connection with themselves and others and then either speak or be silent - maintaining the connections. What arises from this is deeply moving. Without an agenda or indeed any need to speak at all, a space opens for the person to ‘be’ and speak from the heart, articulating only what they really know is true.

While one person is up front, the others in the group have an equally important role. They ensure by the quality of their attention, their ‘there-ness’, that the speaker fully experiences the loveliness of how it is to speak with the complete support of a group of others. They listen without judgment, letting in the enjoyment of hearing someone speak from a completely new ‘place’ of complete congruence with who and what they are in that moment.

I have a schedule of regular Truly Speaking meetings and I’m also ready to arrange meetings for families or at the invitation of any other group.
